FREE ZONE IN REX

On Friday, February 13th , at 8 PM, in Belgrade Cultural Centre Rex, FREE ZONE Film Festival will present documentary film "The Circle of the Drowned Men" (Le Cercle Des Noyés), by filmmaker Pierre-Yves Vandeweerd.

Apart from the very successful Film Festival, which 4th edition was in November 2008., Free Zone also organizes monthly programs in REX. These programs allow you to see new engaged films from various parts of the world, to meet new heros, start new topics and action, deal with the new views, talk about current social and political issues in the world in which every global problem is potentially a local one.

"The Circle of the Drowned Men" is one of those films which focuses on the past. Through an impressive black-white photography, film, in itself, in such a brilliant way articulate together politics and esthetics.

The film is made of the memories and testimonies of the prisoners, never rehabilitated, and as such, it  can be understood not only as a gesture against forgetting, but also as a parable that connect it with Guatanamo.

***Entry price is 100 dinar. All income from the ticket sales is intended for the Receptacle for Street youth and children who live and work on streets of Belgrade.

Ticket sale: REX (Jevrejska 16) from Monday, February 9th (from 10 AM to 4 PM), and on the day of screening from 10 AM till 8 PM.
